Adhesive rolls are sent by the manufacturer shrunk in PE film. This type of packaging is necessary so that no moisture can get to the rolls or the rubber coating and thus spoil the rolls. This defines the first criterion: adhesive rolls must be stored in a dry place. The storage of the rolls at deviations from the normal temperature has an effect on the subsequent behavior during gluing: Adhesive rolls should be stored at room temperature (18 - 23oC). Under these storage conditions, adhesive rolls can be stored for 5 years. For even longer storage periods, it is advisable to check the adhesive strength. For technical reasons, adhesive rolls are packaged by the manufacturer when they are dry. As mentioned at the beginning, practically no moisture can get through the packaging from the outside. There can therefore be no exchange of moisture between the rolls and the humidity of the packing station at the consumer. However, since this exchange is absolutely necessary for the workability of the adhesive strip, you can help yourself by unpacking the required daily ration of rolls the day before and depositing them at the packing station: adhesive rolls should be air-conditioned 24 hours before processing. However, this measure only makes sense if the relative humidity at the packing station is between 50% and 70%.
